The Good Space - Personal Training
With over 40 years in the gym and more than 30 years of professional experience, my journey began at 15 years old – reluctantly walking into a gym with my mother. That beginning shaped a lifelong passion for movement, strength, and resilience.
Today, I specialise in working with 40+ clients who want more than quick results. They want strength that supports their future. Mobility that protects their joints. Confidence that carries into everyday life.
My boutique-style studio adapts to you, whether you need energy and challenge, or calm and control. Every session is built around safe and effective strength training, functional movement, body awareness, and long-term wellbeing.
This is not about training for now.
It’s about training for your eighties and beyond.

An awesome experience with no two sessions being the same and Lisa takes into account where my health, energy and body are at in coming up with a programme. Highly recommendPosted on liz wedderburnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Working with Lisa has had such a positive influence on my well being. Many friends and family comment on the improvement in my posture since starting with Lisa. My goals are to maintain strength, balance and function and Lisa has a huge repertoire of actions that she guides me through constantly checking my positioning. I love it, but wait there is more. Lisa is an inspiration and brings loads of humour and aroha into her practice.Posted on Lindsey ConwellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. GETTING STARTED
ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Lisa.
A little over thirty years ago, I began my professional journey in fitness with a passion for helping people change their bodies. Over time, my philosophy evolved.
What once focused primarily on appearance has grown into something far more meaningful: how we move, how we feel, how we think, and how we care for ourselves long term.
I work primarily with 40+ clients, including those returning to exercise, navigating injury rehabilitation, or simply wanting to feel strong, capable, and confident in their bodies again. I understand that at this stage of life, training must be safe and effective with structure and sustainable.
Strength matters. Mobility matters. Flexibility matters.
But just as importantly; the top two inches matter. The mind and heart must stay connected to the body. Progress comes not only from discipline, but from compassion and consistency… in training, nutrition guidance, and life balance.
Clients often tell me they value my experience, my attention to safe and correct movement, and the way I consider their energy, injuries, and individual needs each session. They notice improvements not just in strength, but in posture, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
I am not here for quick fixes. I am here for sustainable progress, resilience, and longevity.
Because strong bodies support strong minds and both deserve care.
